The Restylane family of products including Restylane®, Restylane Lyft® & Restylane Silk® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane, Restylane-L and Restylane Silk may also be used for lip enhancement.
Restylane is the only hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved to last up to 18 months from initial treatment of moderate to severe nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth) when patients followed the Restylane Regimen.
FILLERS VS. BOTOX?
Unlike Botox injections that relax the muscle under a wrinkle, injectable fillers, fill the line or crease with one of several different products. As a result, the line or crease seems to disappear or simply “filled in.”
Injectable wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful look for a fraction of what a traditional face lift costs. Most will fill lines and wrinkles in less than 30 minutes with results that can last from four months to 18 months. Just one follow-up treatment at 4.5 or nine months later can extend results for up to 18 months from initial treatment in nasolabial folds.
WHICH PRODUCT SHOULD I GET?
The most common Fillers are Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, Radiesse & Sculptra; with variations of each. The amounts available are 1ml, 1.5ml & 2ml’s. To determine which product and how much product is right for you a consultation is required.
MINIMIZING RISKS AND INCREASING GOOD OUTCOMES FOR ALL WRINKLE FILLERS
Don’t let price be your guide. If you are offered a wrinkle filler treatment that costs far less than the standard treatment, it’s likely some compromises are being made, either in the skill of the provider or the quality of the product. Never risk making a bargain with your face.
Do not get injectable wrinkle fillers from sources outside a Medical office. Know what you are being injected with, and ask your doctor if an FDA-approved wrinkle filler is being used and if it was purchased directly from the maker. There have been reports of everything from silicone to baby oil to industrial grade cement being used by unlicensed con-artist type people. If a provider won’t give you information about what will be used, don’t let that provider do the procedure.
